Cheryl was born November 27, 1952, in Winnfield, Louisiana. Upon graduation at Winnfield High School, she held several secretarial positions over the years. Her favorite was at Winnfield Primary School, where she served for 20 years helping pull splinters, consoling upset children, and loving on those who walked through her door. She was heavily involved in her church, First Baptist Church Winnfield, and served on several committees throughout the years. She helped with the Kids on a Mission Children’s Ministry, where she created her role as “ Grandma” to the whole group. She would move around during worship to sit by kids who were distracted. She also loved her Sunday School class, Gail’s Gals, very much. Cheryl loved to cook, plan parties, play cards with close friends, and was always ready to plan a trip. She was probably most known around town for her interior design skills. However, the true passion of her heart was her grandkids. She dearly loved spending time with them and passing down traditions. She loved to give them her good cooking tips and secrets, provide impromptu art lessons, and she even snuck in daily life lessons every time she was around them. They all loved their “Momma De” to no end.
