WSHS Baseball lands players on AII-Cenla and All-State Teams. Justin Lawson,Sr. received All-Cenla and All-State honors for the second year in a row. Junior’s Jake Lashley and Eli Lasyone were honored with All-Cenla and All-State honors. Joshua Tinnerello, Jr. was honored with All-State. Junior, Brett Jurek and Senior Edward Teal received All-Cenla honors. Personally speaking, several of the Winnfield Tiger players got overlooked for All-Cenla and All-State having better stats, but that’s the sports writers neglecting to look at the numbers a nd letting politics control the voting. But that’s a different story.

Winnfield’s Coach Mike Breaux took the honors of Coach of the Year for the second year in a row for 3-2A District. During Coach Breaux’s tenor at WSHS, he along with Coach Jake Parks has helped lead the boys deep in the playoffs. In 2016 the team made it to the playoffs but fell in the first round. 2017 the team made it to the second round and lost due to a pitch count ending their miracle run. In 2018 and 2019 the teams won over 20 games in the regular season, won back to back District Championships and made it to the Quarter Finals.
