Buel Franklin (B.F.) Horn, of Quitman, Louisiana, succumbed to a lengthy illness on the evening of Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.

Buel was born July 29, 1940 in Arkinda, Arkansas to Cecil Horn and Dorothy Broomfield Horn. He was the oldest child of five. His brother, Wayne Horn and sisters, Sue Brown, Barbara Lazarus and Gayle Tippen are left to treasure their lives with him along with aunts, Cherry Young, Lynda Terral, Gay Broomfield Roncal and uncle, Garland Broomfield.

Buel lived in Dodson, Louisiana for several years where he graduated from high school in 1958. On July 8, 1959, Buel married Jeanette Sizemore Horn. They made their home, their family and a lifetime of memories in the same location in Quitman for just shy of 60 years. He supported his family by working at Continental Can and later as a truck driver, both local and cross country. He was also employed as a dispatcher for Davison Transport for a few years.

From this marriage three children were raised. Pam Ketchens (and Jeff Fullerton), Greg Horn (and Angie) and Tim Horn (and Linda) are left with broken hearts but knowledge and love that could have only been received through their strong family bond.

Mr. Horn was a proud grandfather to Jessica Bowman, Rachel Ketchens, Jesse Fullerton, Neka Fullerton, Samantha Taylor, Mallory Horn, Aleisha Johnson, Tasha Horton and Jacob Horn. He loved spending time with his ten great-grandsons and seven great-granddaughters.

Mr. Horn had a great love of family and friends, and was very passionate about “old treasures”, mainly cars. His love of old cars and restoring them back to their original glory was his way of teaching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that there is always beauty to be found beyond the rust.

Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Horn and Dorothy Broomfield Horn, sister Pat Huffman, son-in-law Larry D. Ketchens and grandson, Timothy Lance Horn.

Visitation was held Friday, April 26, 2019 at Edmonds with Services in the Edmonds Chapel on Saturday, April 27 th at 10 am. Burial was at Brooks Chapel Cemetery in Quitman.

Serving as Pall Bearers for Mr. Horn were Rickey Masters, Joey Jordan, Joseph Jones, Chuckie Harvey, C.A. Broomfield, Jr. and Ray Lazarus. Honorary Pall Bearers were special friends: Herb Cockerham, Gary Bell, Bobby Dillon, Marty Woods and Don Stafford.
