Warren Clinton Ferrier

Mr. Warren Clinton Ferrier, age 89 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

Born Monday, June 3, 1929 in Montgomery, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Clestine Maude Roberts Ferrier and Floyd W. Ferrier; daughter, Deana Ferrier; grandchildren, Angela Lang, Jonathan Lang, and Stacy Vollm; brothers, Loyd, Lawrence, Bain, James, Bryan and Alfous Ferrier; sisters, Nora Lee Ferrier Simmons and Ora Ferrier Dubois; and son-in-law, Larry Berry.

Mr. Ferrier was retired from the Louisiana State Highway Department and was a member and song-leader of the Montgomery Church of Christ. He was the only song-leader that could correct his kid with a knuckle to the head and not miss a beat. Mr. Ferrier was known as “the best fiddle player in the state of Louisiana”, having been named state champion four years in a row. He loved pickin’ and grinnin’ with family and friends, because that was his passion, as well as hunting and fishing and spending time with his loved ones.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 70 years and 2 months, Bonnie Elaine Cox Ferrier; sons, Clinton Ferrier (Tricia), Ronnie Ferrier (Carolyn), and Gene Ferrier (Barbara); daughters, Debbie Smith (Alton), Theresa Pippin (Billy), and Susan Berry; special daughter, Fran Robinson Glenos; 13 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; and sister, Iris Inez (Lola) Ferrier (Perkins).

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Montgomery Church of Christ with Mitchell Norman and Irvin Williams officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery, in Montgomery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers were Shandon Ferrier, Ryan Ferrier, Rick Ferrier, Keith Berry, Josh Berry, Steven Lang, Caleb Berry, and Timothy Vollm. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Roberts, Irvin Williams, Charlie Moore, and Landon Duffle.
