Wiley was born on March 2, 1938 to the union of Tandy Cade Warren and Rosie Sullivan Warren in Ashland, Louisiana. He was raised in Castor, Louisiana and after graduation from Castor High School attended Northwestern State University. In his early years he resided in Natchitoches, Louisiana working with his brother at Warren’s Market. It’s there that he met the love of his life, Alice “Bird” Warren. He was married April 6, 1958 and was later blessed with six children, three boys and three girls. He began his career with the Louisiana State Police in 1966, serving until his retirement in 1987, then in 1988, serving one term as Sheriff of Winn Parish.

Wiley’s favorite hobby was carpentry and after leaving law enforcement, worked several years at this trade. He taught this skill to his children and they worked alongside him on many projects. With the help of his children, he built his family a home that he and Bird have continued lived in for the past 37 years. He was known and well-respected by many in the community from his years of service with the State Police and Sheriff’s Department, even though he had written many of them tickets. He served as a member of Calvin Baptist Church and shared his love and faith in the Lord with everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.

Those honored to serve as Pallbearers were: Max Adams, Bobby Beaubouef, R.B. Brock, Mike Carpenter, Tom Kelly, Bill Martin and Tommy Provence. Honorary pall bearers are his Sunday school class.
