WSHS Tiger Baseball Season is Here

The WSHS baseball season is just around the corner. The boys have all been putting in the hours and work, tuning up their skills in anticipation of the 2019 season. The Tigers are hoping to continue their winning ways from last year where they finished the season with a 22-11 overall record, 8-1 in district play earning the 3-2A District Championship and qualifying in the Quarterfinals of the playoffs. The team will once again be lead by Coach Mike Breaux who is starting his 4 th season as the Tigers head coach, along with Coach Jake Parks who will be starting his 5 th year as assistant coach for the baseball team.

The Tigers have eight returning starters from last year’s squad. They will be led by three Senior’s Justin Lawson, P/IF; Edward Teal. OF/P and Jacob Tinnerello, OF/P. The remaining starters from last year are Junior’s Brett Jurek, Jake Lashley, Eli Lasyone, Eli Spangler, and Joshua Tinnerello. Jonathan Montgomery and Daniel Simmons are returners from last year’s team along with newcomers Dalton Bartley, Cole Debusk and Jaycen Williams rounding out the Junior class. The sophomore class is made up of five returners from last year, Jack Adams, Braedan Austin, Rhett Blake, Andrew Evans and Micah Griffin along with newcomer Cameron Kyle. Completing the Tiger Team is the freshman class consisting of Kolby Lasyone, Dyllan Lawson, Jake Pharr, Cooper Spangler, Jay Cooper Spangler and Hunter Tucker. Returning for his second year as manager is Senior Matthew Harrell.
