Mr. Alen R. Coolman, Jr. “(Half Pint), age 64 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019.

Alen was born March 8, 1954 to Alen, Sr. and Cecile Gongre Coolman. He became a jockey at a young age, winning many titles. Alen spent many years driving a log got .

loved hunting. The biggest and most important part of his world were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To say he loved them was an understatement.

Alen was preceded in death by his parents, Alen Coolman, Sr. and Cecile Gongre Coolman; sisters, Carolyn Sue Carter and Katherine Coolman Mount, and granddaughter, Alexis Coolman.

Alen is survived by the love of his life, wife, Betty Coolman; his four daughters, Wendy Ballard (Stacy), Marie Johnson (Tracy), Crystal Cotten (Shelby) and Tina Coolman; five grandchildren, Chase Ballard, Kathy Ballard Jones, Samantha Lambert, Tyler Cotten and Alissa Coolman; four great-grandchildren, Drake Ballard, Weston Jones, Paislee Hayes and Mallory Ballard; sisters, Theresa James (Randy) and Becky Coolman; brothers, Roy Coolman (Carol), Bobby Coolman, Olan Coolman, Gilbert Coolman (Teleah) and Eddie Coolman (Sherry).

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Liberty Christian Church in Aloha with Rev. Chuck LaCroix officiating. Interment followed in St. Maurice Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Pallbearers were Chase Ballard, Tyler Cotten, Dakota Carter, Randy Potts, Ricky Welch and Tony Stroud. Honorary pallbearers were Earnest Chelette, Drake Ballard, Weston Jones and Landon Treadway.
