Lawsuit Filed Against Winnfield Police Department

Three law firms, along with the ACLU, have filed a joint lawsuit against the Winnfield Police Department.

The suit says, on November 5, 2018, Winnfield Police Officer Justin Curry shot Tanisha White with a taser. It says she was hit in her right eye. Attorneys say after permanently losing sight in this eye, White must now have it removed.

November 13th, the ACLU filed an open records request to get more details of the incident. So far attorneys say they have not gotten a response, which is why the lawsuit was filed.
