Deputy Wayne Hagan Speaks to Kiwanis Club

Wayne Hagan

Sheriff Cranford Jordan introduced Deputy Wayne Hagan to the Kiwanis club. Jordan said Hagan has been an asset to the Winn Parish Sheriff’s office as a computer specialist.

Hagan spoke to the club about scams first and then about using computers to assist in solving crimes.

Each Kiwanis member received a handout about different types of scams. Scams are looking for money, credit card information, bank account information, etc. Never ever give this type of information out over the phone if you did not initiate the call and even then you need to know who you are talking to. The IRS scam is one that a lot of people get very upset about. You need to remember that the IRS never calls you. They will send you a letter. Scams tend to target senior citizens because they think they have a nest egg or access to money. Make sure you know who you are talking to and don’t send money to anyone.
