Mr. Albert Michael “Mike” Cockerham, age 70, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018. Born Thursday, December 4, 1947, in Winnfield, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield and was a graduate of Northwestern State University with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking and gardening, but above all, he most enjoyed helping other people. Mr. Cockerham was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Howard and Clara Rachel Carpenter Cockerham; first wife, Janice Richards Cockerham; siblings, Howard Cockerham, Frances Williams and Cathy Franks; nephew, Roger D. Lowery. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 26 years, Becky Johns Cockerham, Winnfield; daughter, Amy Cockerham Gardner (Jeff), Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Jensen, Hannah and Caroline Gardner; mothers-in-law, Jo Ann Johns and Marjorie Richards; brothers-in-law, David Johns (Anna), George Johns (Lori) and Mark Johns (Velma); sisters-in-law, Lela Cockerham, Mary Ann Sullivan (Danny), Neica Murry, Alpha Boyett (Toby) and Gayla Little (Jamie); aunt, Katherine Creel. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Smithson officiating. Serving the family as pallbearers were Steve Cockerham, Craig Cockerham, Eric Little, Kreston Phelps, Josh Walker, Matt Johns and Anthony Johns. Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Delta Tire. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or First Baptist Church of Winnfield’s Youth Ministry. Online condolences may be made to the family at
