Alice Florene Keen

Mrs. Alice Florene Keen, age 82 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Born Monday, April 6, 1936 in Sikes, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, John R. and Edna Truitt McDow; husband, Gene Everett Keen; Infant Son; Infant Daughter; and brother, Norman Joe McDow. Mrs. Keen was a lifetime member of United Baptist Church where she was a charter member and Sunday School Teacher. She was a member and past president of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Keen served as a Justice of the Peace and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Home Demonstration Club. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Carol Keen, Janet Billings and husband Steve, and Debra Desadier and husband Bruce; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, George, John, and Henry McDow; sister, Mary Lowery; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Southern Funeral Home with Bro. Justin Caples and Bro. Buddy Lowery officiating. Interment followed in Jordan Hill Cemetery, near Winnfield. Serving the family as pallbearers were Jeremy Billings, Spencer Billings, Dustin Guilliams, Randy McDow, Jay Keen, and Jeff Howard. David Boyd and Dustin Desadier served as honorary pallbearers. The family asks that in lieu of flowers you make memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
