Winn Parish School Board Honors Retirees

On May 7, 2018, the Winn Parish School Board recognized seven employees for the Winn Parish School Districts in their years of service followed by retirement. The Superintendent of the school board opened up with a warm welcome to family and friends who had come out to support these retirees. From Atlanta High School, Denise Young recognized Paul Collins who served as a coach. From Dodson High school Principle Beth Parker recognized two employees.

The first was Ruth Blackstock who served as a cafeteria worker. She was described by her coworkers as always being an encouraging person. Angela Smith, who was Dodson’s librarian, was the second retiree for DHS recognized. She had been in the education field for the past 33 years. She served at DHS since 2012. From the Winnfield Primary School, Principal Amy Dantzler recognized Vicky Foster. She has worked both at Winn Primary and Middle school. She was described by Ms. Dantzler as “Always coming to work with a smile on her face”.
