53 Honored at Scholars’ Banquet in Winn Parish

ystem honored 53 students with a Senior Scholars Banquet on Monday, April 30. Graduating seniors from Atlanta High School, Calvin High School, Dodson High School, and Winnfield Senior High School who have earned a 3.5 GPS for their entire high school career were recognized for this achievement before graduating this month.

 

The program, which included a meal of grilled pork steak, cheesy mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, green salad, rolls, chocolate cake and iced tea, included guest speaker Dr. Aneal Veluvolu, a former student of Winnfield Senior High School who is now a specialist of internal medicine and medical oncology at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center in Shreveport, LA. Veluvolu is the son of Dr. Ratnam Nagalla, who practiced medicine in Winnfield for several years before moving to Shreveport. Winn Parish Superintendent Steve Bartlett introduced Veluvolu as a favorite son of the Winn Parish School System.
