Mr. Weyman Rodney Brantley

Mr. Weyman Rodney Brantley, age 80 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018. Born Saturday, March 19, 1938 in Goldonna, Louisiana, he was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church and owned and operated a tractor dealership for a number of years. After retiring, he was a dispatcher at the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office under the administrations of Sheriffs Buddy Jordan and Cranford Jordan. Mr. Brantley was preceded in death by his parents, Felton P. Brantley and Bertye B. Williams Brantley; siblings, Ray Brantley, Patsy Anderson and Lamourie Eaves. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Shirley Branch Brantley; daughter, Kim Lynne Brantley and husband William G. “Bill” Kelley; nieces and nephews, Janis Eaves, Patricia Brewer, Patrick Yancey, Scott Yancey and Patrick Yancey. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Prince officiating. Interment followed in Harmony Grove Cemetery in Dodson. Serving the family as pallbearers were Junior Branch, Wayne Moore, Wayne Smith, Ralph Henson, Scott Yancey and Tommy Sikes. Honorary pallbearers were Lamar Hutto and Jeremy Underwood. The family wishes to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks for the excellent care by Dr. Eric Dupree and the entire ICU staff of Winn Parish Medical Center.
