Rotary Club Hears of Kairos Ministry

Michael Richard was guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Winnfield on July 19 when he spoke on the effectiveness of the Kairos Prison Ministry that both wins the hearts of many inmates to Christ and reduces the chances that they will return to prison once released. The difference in Kairos from other faith-based programs is that it builds the inmates up when the volunteers show through their words and action that they are not much different from each other. The weekend-long event strives to plant the seed of Christian love and to build a Christian brotherhood within the walls of the prison that meets weekly. Shown in photo are Patricia and Michael Richard with several of the local Kairos volunteers Jane Purser, Tim Howell and Jay Hinckley.
