Bill Nash speaks to Kiwanis Club, Tuesday, April 18

Bill Nash spoke to the Kiwanis club Tuesday, April 18th about his new book “The Battle of the Longs”. Nash is a Pentecostal pastor and lives in Deridder. He spoke to the Kiwanis club previously about his first book “High Hat Sam” about Sam Houston Jones, a former governor of Louisiana.

Nash has studied the Longs all of his life. His great-grandfather was very supportive of the Longs, particularly Huey Long.

The Longs have been on the ballot in Louisiana almost continuously since 1900 beginning with Huey’s father.

The Longs have been on the ballot 67 -68 times. The Long that served the longest was Russell Long in the Senate for 38-39 years.
