Mrs. Marie Williams Jackson

Mrs. Marie Williams Jackson, age 87 of Montgomery passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at her residence. Born March 25, 1927 in Dry Prong, LA, she was a member of Hargis Baptist Church. She had a host of friends and enjoyed people stopping by for visiting and coffee where there was always something good to eat at her house. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ode and Seleta Buchanan Williams, her husband of 55 years, E.C. Jackson, sister, Avis Dewitt, brother, Marvin Williams. Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Steve Jackson and Mark Jackson and wife Jimmie Lane all of Montgomery; sister, Ilalene Howard of Tioga. Funeral services were held in the church at 10:00AM on Friday, October 31, 2014 with Reverends Ken Arnold and Terry Teddlie officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Serving as pallbearers were Stan Jackson, David Jackson, Butch McLain, Melvin McLain, James Frantom and Donald Ray Williams. The Jackson Family extends special appreciation to Dr. Carole Holton and staff of Family Practice Associates, for their help and support during her illness. Also, thanks to Grace Home Hospice of Alexandria, the doctors, nurses and aides were compassionate and supportive as they helped our family through a hard time with their knowledge and support. Also, thanks to Mrs. Margie Shelton and Sue Williams who were her faithful sitters. We cannot thank them enough for their devotion to our Mother.
