Mr. Richard Stanley Cockerham

Mr. Richard Stanley Cockerham, age 76 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014. Mr. Cockerham was born Sunday, September 04, 1938 in Winnfield, Louisiana, In 1956, he joined the US Air Force, securing three tours of duty in Shepard Grove, England as an aviation mechanic. After returning home, he continued as an aircraft mechanic. He owned an operated a Texaco station for a number of years and also worked with Fred Wilson Drilling Company. Upon retiring, he drove a truck for the Fleetwood Truck Company. Richard loved fishing, cook-outs, casinos, spending time with friends, family and his animals. He was preceded in death by his Parents, B.J. (Burl) and Vivian Cockerham; Brothers, Wayne Cockerham and Bobby Cockerham. Those left to cherish his memory include his Son, Stacey Cockerham and wife Kim, Winnfield; Granddaughter, Paige Cockerham, Winnfield; Sisters, Sherri Nugent, Georgetown, Sandra Cline, Pollock, Carolyn Bruce, Jonesville, and Mary Waxley, Lafayette; Special Friend and companion, Dana Cook, Winnfield; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great nephews and one special aunt. Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Hollis officiating. Interment follow edunder the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Serving the family as pallbearers were Greg (Peck) Nugent, Stacy Cockerham, Mark Pierce, John Blake, Brett Price, and
