James Randall “Randy” Maxwell

James Randall “Randy” Maxwell was born October 24, 1958 in Cotton Valley, La., He is the son of the late Edward C. Maxwell and the late Marguerite McMichael Maxwell. He was raised most of his young life in Sarepta, La. where he attended and graduated from Sarepta  High School. He then went on to attend and graduate Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1980. Randy married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Grappe Maxwell on June 2, 1978 and have been married for 36 years. They have two precious children; their daughter, Ashley Rae Maxwell of Alexandria, La., and son, Kyle Randall Maxwell of  Baton Rouge, La. Also a beloved mother-in-law Audrey Rowe of Winnfield. Randy has one sister Judy Zeiter of California, brother, Dennis Maxwell and his wife Rhonda Maxwell of Arkansas; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Randy started his career working in Shreveport, La. for a local CPA firm. Randy became a licensed Certified Public Accountant on January 30, 1987. He was later employed in the accounting department at Enron in Bossier City but when the offices where being moved to Houston he chose to stay in Minden, La. his home. He then chose to open his own CPA practice in June 1987; He was the owner of this public accounting firm until he decided to make a career change in January 2002. He completed his NASD Series 7 licensing to sell investment securities and was offered the Edward Jones office in Winnfield, La., of which he took over on March 4, 2002. Randy attended First Baptist Church in Minden, was ordained as a deacon there, taught Sunday School, and cherished the men’s bible study group led by Paul Kitchens. More recently he was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield, a member of the Rotary Club, and Kiwanis Club of Winnfield. He has been involved in the community in various baseball and football events, along with the above-mentioned clubs. Randy also enjoyed serving the community by being a volunteer Winn Parish Sheriff’s Deputy. Randy loved his f amily and friends. Anything his children were involved in he was there; he loved to see them do all activities and was proud of all their accomplishments. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting with friends and traveling with his wife, Bonnie, and their family. He was certified scuba diver and dove any chance he could get. He loved the ocean and seeing all the beauty God has created on this earth. He was also an avid LSU football fan. Randy will be missed greatly and is loved so much. He is with God now, in His precious, healing loving arms, waiting for us on the other side. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Interment will be private. *The Maxwell family respectfully request that IN LIEU OF FLOWERS that memorials please be made to The First Baptist Church of Winnfield, Building Fund or Music Ministry and or also to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
