Alton Roy Barron was born December 4, 1935 in Ashland, LA. He fell asleep in death on Thursday September 11, 2014 .
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugie Barron, his mother Pearlie Mae Barron, his brother Jack Barron & his
daughter Deborah Kaye Barron. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria Faye Barron; two daughters, Suzy Barron
Quintana, (Ed) and Tina Barron Quintana, (Paul); His sons by love Steve Dauzart, Michael Mcpherson & Tim Zimmerman,
his 3 brothers Dru Barron, Robbie Barron, James Barron & his 5 grandchildren...Leah Quintana, Jason Quintana, (Jaymie)
Josh Quintana, (Brittney) Dru Quintana (Juneysi) & Devlin Quintana...and a host of dearly loved nieces, nephews & lifelong
friends. Born with a hole in his heart, doctors told him he would never live to see adulthood. With the determination & strength he was best known for he spent the rest of his life proving them wrong. He loved deep fried Southern Food, His wife’s buttermilk biscuits smothered in Steen’s Cane syrup, fishing on Saline Lake, solid gold country music, dominoes, a good game of cards, white bread and any kind of sweets he could get his hands on. It was the simple pleasures in life that made him happy. He was an avid fisherman and Saline Lake was his backyard. He spent many happy hours under the shade of the cypress trees with his constant companion, his fishing pole. He loved people and never met a stranger. His home was where everyone felt welcome & loved...around his table many good meals were served, many card games played, & lots of laughter shared. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Feb 10, 2007. One of the decisions he was most proud of. He was a kind man loved by everyone who knew him. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. A Memorial Service was held at the Pineville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday September 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Brother Tim Horton officiating.
