State goes ‘Hog Wild’: feral hog costs are on the rise

Uncounted and increasing numbers of sounders, or packs  of feral pigs, roam Louisiana’s landscape. The animals cross suburban and rural areas. In early June, La. Department of Agriculture and Forestry trappers captured 15 wild hogs in
the heavily populated New Orleans suburb of Harahan. Earlier in the summer, two feral hogs were reported on Blom Boulevard in the Southern Hills area of Shreveport
