Funeral services celebrating the life of Maxine Jordan McCartney were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Dr. Joe L. Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers honored to serve were her close family and friends. Maxine Jordan McCartney, 89, of Alexandria, was born to Joe and Ella Crawford Jordan on April 29, 1925, in Hineston and passed from this life on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at  Winnfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Maxine was a member of Air Base Road Baptist Church for many years. She was one of seven children and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Putting herself last, she was always willing to love and help others. She will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David “Curley” McCartney; son, Joe McCartney; her parents; granddaughter,
Chandley Allen; great grandson, David Bledsoe; brothers, Walter Jordan and Clarence Jordan; sisters, Flora Capps, Laura O’Neal and Lillie Mae Coburn. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Rosa Bledsoe and husband, Henry, Patricia Strother and husband, Don; brother, Joe B. Jordan; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
