Odell Luther Temple

Mr. Odell Luther Temple, age 98 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 in Winnfield. Born Friday, November 19, 1915 in Dodson, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Temple and the late Hallie Jones Temple Mr. Temple was a longtime employee of the U.S. Forest Service. His employment with the Forest Service began Nov. 1, 1955 and he retired Oct. 5, 1980. Mr. Temple served as Union Steward with the National Federation of Federal Employees for many years and was on the board of the Winn Parish Council on the Aged for several years. Mr. Temple was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife Faye Gibbs Temple, brothers, Billy Temple and G.C. Temple and sisters, Cleo Temple Jones and Lavera Temple Walker.
Survivors include, daughters, Barbara Temple Usrey and husband Jimmie Dale, Winnfield and Brenda Temple Rogers and husband Mike, Hot Springs, AR; Grandsons, Mickey Usrey and wife Brenda, Winnfield, Keith Rogers, Hot Springs, AR; Great Grandchildren, Nicole Usrey Foshee and husband Michael and Kristan Usrey Guilliams and husband Chance; Great-Great Grandchildren, Jacksen and Trafford Foshee. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Wallace Ingles and Rev. Deloy Shows officiating. Interment followed in Cypress Creek Cemetery, Dodson. Serving the family as pallbearers were Mickey Usrey, Keith Rogers, Michael Foshee, Chance Guilliams, Johnny Brister and Max Daughtry.
