Mrs. Margie Ann Waters Thomas, age 69 of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Winnfield. Mrs. Thomas, was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was a member of Clarence Baptist Church and taught bible school at Lakeside Baptist Church. She was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed quilting. Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of the late Leo Waters and the late Annie Mae Fedrick Waters. She was also preceded in death by a son James Thomas Jr., Father and Mother In Law T. M. Thomas and Lois Thomas. Survivors include her husband of fifty years James M. Thomas, son Mark Thomas and wife Vanessa of Norfolk, VA., Daughter Ann Thomas Carpenter and husband James of Winnfield, LA., four grandchildren Ashley Carpenter, Logan Thomas, Breann Thomas and Emma Thomas, two brothers Alvin Waters and wife Vicki of Natchitoches, LA., and Paul Waters of Shreveport, LA., four sisters Marie Thompson and husband Billy of Shreverport, LA., Betty Hoffpauir and husband Tom of Shreveport, LA., Ilene Emfinger and husband Mel of Mooringsport, LA., Olivia Kieffer and husband James of Ruston. Mrs. Thomas is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 5th, 2013 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends David Free and Ernest Little officiating. Interment followed in the Couley Double Church Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers were Patrick Kieffer, Patrick Johnson, Ron Harrison, John L. Pickett, Kenneth Stanfill, and Donald Kelley.
