Mr. Charles Robert Perdue, 87, of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Autumn Leaves Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winnfield. Mr. Perdue was born to Ernest E. and Mattie Boozer Perdue on October 31, 1926 in McCaskill, Arkansas. He attended Winnfield Sr. High School. While serving our country in the U. S. Army for fourteen years, he was stationed in Germany and Korea during the Korean War. Mr. Perdue worked as a security guard for Riverwood International at Joyce, Louisiana until his retirement. He was a member of the First Assembly Of God in Winnfield. Mr. Perdue was preceded in death by his brothers, J. B. “Pete” Perdue, Caldwell Perdue, Vasco “Harry” Perdue, and his sister Abbie Perdue Mixon. Mr. Perdue is survived by seventeen nieces and nephews, Rev. John Perdue, Rev. Charles Perdue, Mary Tillman, Glenda Graves, of Arkansas; Jack Perdue, Don Perdue of Texas; Doug Perdue of Tennessee; Ronnie Mixon, Donnie Mixon, Rev. David Mixon, Nathanael Mixon, John Mixon, James Mixon, Joel Mixon, Paul Dale Mixon, Martha Massey of Louisiana; Priscilla Fitzgerald of Alabama. Also surviving Mr. Perdue is one sister-In-law Mae Perdue of Texas. Great nieces and nephews, his church family, neighbors, and friends are among those who mourn his passing. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at First Assembly of God with Reverends Mike Howell and Kenneth Stanfill Officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield, Louisiana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Nephews of Mr. Perdue served as pallbearers.
