Norris Bailey

Norris Bailey, age 79 of Calvin, Louisiana went home to be with the Lord and Savior on his birthday,

Wednesday, April 3,

He was born April 3, 1945, in Glenmora, Louisiana to Shrilda and Curtis Bailey. He graduated Glenmora High school and attend-University in pursuit of a degree in history. He worked for the Plywood Coating Industry for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Winnfield, serving as Sunday School Director. Later, after his failing health, he moved to Calvin with his wife. His membership was moved to Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Norris was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Shrilda Bailey; sister, Betty Clark; twin sister, Doris Doyle; and brother, Billy Bailey.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Teresa Garrett Bailey; son, Mark Bailey; daughters, Amanda Smith (John) and Tiffany B. Smith (Adam); special nephews, Milton and Greg Clark; friends, Cody and Ginger Cummings; grandchildren, Avery Smith (fiancé Devan Ingels), Peyton Smith, Maddie Smith, Alex Smith, and Bryce Bailey.

His memorial service will be at 1:30 pm on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Calvin Louisiana with Brother Charles Malone officiating.

The family asks that any memorials be made to Bethlehem Shoe Box Ministry or St. Jude’s Research Hospital in honor of Avery Smith.
