Vivian Dale Smith Taylor

Vivian Dale Smith Taylor, age 95, of Sikes, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Christus Highland Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on Sunday, December 30, 1928, in Sikes, Louisiana, to Eugene and Maggie Parker Smith. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Ruth Smith James and Bonnie Smith Hubbard, and her brother-in-law, Charlie James.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter, Virginia Beth Parker, and husband Mickey; one grandchild, Kresi, four great-grandchildren, Todd, Micheal, Kaylee, and Caiden; four greatgreat- grandchildren, Easton, Kane, Keaton, and Logun; and brother- in-law Percy Hubbard.

A faithful Christian, Ms. Vivian was a devoted member of Sikes Apostolic Church, where she found solace and community. Her dedication extended beyond her spiritual life, as she spent her working career beginning in the Sikes High School Cafeteria and later as the secretary. Until her well-earned retirement she was the secretary at Atlanta High School.

Family and friends were invited to pay their respects on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Southern Funeral Home, from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM. Funeral services followed at 2:00 PM at Southern Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Mickey Parker, Sarah Edwards, and Rev. E.R. Johnson. Interment took place at Sikes Cemetery in Sikes, under the compassionate direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Winnfield.

Pallbearers, chosen to honor Ms. Vivian, were Todd Parker, Micheal Parker, Kaylee McDaniel, Caiden Parker, Kole Parker, and Dylan McDaniel.
