Tina Reed Long

Tina Reed Long, age 60, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 3, 2022 after a very long illness, with her family by her side. Visitation was held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA from 12:30 - 1:15 on Friday, November 4, 2022. Graveside services for Tina were held at Fort Jesup Cemetery (following the visitation) at 2:00 pm, with Lamar Carpenter officiating.

Tina was born on January 4, 1962, to Terry and Louise Reed, in Winnfield, Louisiana. Tina and Roger Long were married in Winnfield, La in 1986. They were blessed with two lovely daughters, Megan and Lacy Long. She is preceded in death by her father, Terry L. Reed, husband Roger Long, and step father John Martin.

Tina is survived by her daughters Megan Lawless (Sam) and Lacy Buckner (Brock), both of Shreveport, her step daughter Erin Long of Fairfield, Texas. Also, her mother Louise Martin of Natchitoches, sister Melanie Thomas (Todd), nephews Mitchell and Matthew Thomas, all of Casa Grande, Arizona, sister Alex Reed, her Uncle Jerry Reed (Cathy) of Many and two special cousins Missy Reed Dees and Stephanie Reed Self. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Malayna and Jase Abels, Kylie Martin, and Bryce and Trace Ducote. She is also survived by three special step-siblings, Tammy Rushing (Dewayne), Brad Martin (Mary) and Jason Martin (Ken), along with several nieces and nephews. Tina’s eyes lit up every time her son in laws walked into the room, until the very end.

The family wishes to thank the many people at the Community Care Nursing Home for their care of her for the past several years. They would also like to thank Compassionate Hospice for their amazing comfort care for Tina and support for her family during the last week of her life.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Sam Lawless, Brock Buckner, Bryce Ducote, Jerry Reed, Brad Martin, and Kent Mitchell. Honorary pallbearer was Jason Martin.
