City of Winnfield Holds 2018 Inaugural Program

With anticipation from all areas of the room, the civic center was full of family, friends, supporters, and Winnfield City Personnel to witness the swearing in for the mayor-elect, George Moss, but also City Council members and Chief Johnny Ray Carpenter as well.

The program started with a warm welcoming from our outgoing Mayor Kiah Beville, followed by a spiritual song from the Family Church. Bro. Tomell Hamms, pastor of New Zion Church, led us in an opening prayer for the program; to follow City Marshall Walton led the crowd in the Pledge Allegiance to our Country’s Flag. After another great song from the Family Church Praise team, Rev. Steven Smithson led a prayer over our city. Judge Anastasia Wiley came to swear in the following, City Police Chief Johnny Ray Carpenter, new City Council members LaWanda Holden, District 1, and Teresa Caesar Philips, District 5. Along with the remaining members, with their re-swearing in, Sarah Russell Junkin, District 3, and Matt Miller, District 4. For a very special ceremonial experience
