Mayor Speaks at Rotary Club Meeting

Rotary met for their weekly meeting Wednesday May 30th, 2018, with an honorary guest Mayor Kiah Beville. He is a member of the Rotarians here in Winnfield, and has served as Mayor for the past four years. He spoke on many things he has accomplished in his term. First, he mentioned the new electric sub station for Winnfield. He talked about the Recreation Dept. receiving a grant of $300,000 for repairs and renovations to the gym, equipment, batting cages, and playgrounds at the local parks.


Also during his term, he has worked with the Winnfield City Fire Department, with the result of all WFD personal are EMT certified now, and answer emergency calls in city limits. Just these past couple weeks, he has helped start new street repairs all around Winnfield, with a total of 21 streets being serviced. During his term, Winnfield was named the Cleanest City for the past 4 years, coming in 2nd statewide this year. He has helped the water department, installing an oxidation system for cleaner water. Mayor Beville says he feels good the way he is leaving the city, financially and personal wise. He has been working closely with the soon to be mayor, George Moss, with getting on board with what is to come.
