Tiger X-Country In Top Ten At State Meet

Led by Tyler Hight’s top five finish, the Winnfield Tiger cross country team raced to a 7th place finish out of 30 schools represented at the LHSAA 2A State Meet held on the campus of NSU in Natchitoches. Hight finished 4th behind 3 runners from eventual team champion Episcopal of Baton Rouge in a time of 16 minutes 37.3 seconds over the 3.1 mile course. The Tiger junior captured All State honors for the 2nd year in a row after finishing 7th at last year’s state meet. The 2A field included nearly 170 individual competitors.

The team’s performance was no less spectacular considering the much tougher field they were competing against in the 2A classification.
