Winnfield Kiwanis Club Installation Banquet Held October 16

The Winnfield Kiwanis club held its annual Installation Banquet, Monday, Oct. 16th at the First Presbyterian Church. Outgoing President Rita James called the meeting to order. After the pledge, invocation, defining statement, and prayer James welcomed everyone and introduced guests. The group then enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Linda Peavy. After the meal, President James presented special recognitions and awards.

The Legion of Honor Honorees were Dr. Jerry Williams with 55 years of service, Dr. Bill Gaddis with 40 years of service, Jimmy Dale Zimmerman with 25 years of service and Margaret Coon with 21 years of service with Terrific Kids.

Sheriff Cranford Jordan received the Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to the club including hosting the Fish Fry and collecting money for Toys for Kids. The Kiwanian of the Year Award was given to Steve Bates for his work with the Pancake Supper and all the work he did to get the club set up for 501C3 status and other accounting work.
