Cecil Roy Bryant

Cecil Roy Bryant of St. Maurice went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2016 with his wife, children, and brother-in-law by his side. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Bryant; father, Archie Bryant; infant brother James Anthony Bryant; nephew, Kenneth Ray Gorum; and niece, Rolinda Gay Gorum. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Bryant; son, Cecil D. Bryant; daughter, Ramona L. Benoit and husband Johnny; two grandsons, Ryan Dubois and fiancée Lindsy; Terrance Bryant and his fiancée Amanda McGothlin; two great grandchildren, Emma Allyce and Hunter Daniel Bryant. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Gorum and husband Donald; brother, Joe Bryant and his wife Kathy; sister Marie Mooney and husband Terry; sister Debbie Meredith and husband Bobby; and a host of nieces and nephews. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, a love passed on from his daddy to him and his brother. He enjoyed sharing his catch with friends and family or anyone who was in need. His other passion was gardening with his son Cecil and his friend of many years, Jerry Small. He always planted enough to feed an entire army, or as he would say, “anyone who wants or needs vegetables.” Never complaining of the hard work and sweat that was put into it. He loved his grandsons and great grandkids very much and found much pleasure in spending time with them. It was just the simple things in life that brought much joy to him. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Graveside services were held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Maurice Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Lacroix officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Ryan DuBois, Terrance Bryant, James Allgor, Johnny Benoit, Terryl DuBois, and Reggie Longino served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Small and Bobby Desadier. Friends my express condolences to the family online by visiting www.southernfuneralhome.com.
