Moeice Lashley Jones

Mrs. Moeice Lashley Jones, age 95, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Born on May 15, 1931, in Atlanta, Louisiana, she lived a life marked by devotion to her faith, her family, and her community.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her beloved husband, C.W. “Jack” Jones, with whom she shared nearly 77 years of marriage. Their enduring love and commitment served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Buford E. Lashley and Bermie Shows Lashley; her sister, Willie Jean Lashley Snead and husband J.D. Snead; and her brothers, Buford Elmo “Sonny” Lashley and James Harold Lashley.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Yvonne Jones (George) of Pride, Louisiana, and Paula Jones of Winnfield, Louisiana; her brother, Walter Wayne Lashley and wife Cindy; her sisterin- law, Bobbie Lashley; and a host of special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love and kindness.
A faithful Christian, Mrs. Jones was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Winnfield. Throughout her life she devoted herself to the Lord’s work through service and teaching. She was actively involved in the Women’s Missionary Union, now known as Women on Missions, and in earlier years taught children’s Sunday School and Training Union classes. She also worked with Girls in Action (GA’s) and faithfully chaperoned young people attending GA camps at Tall Timbers and Friendship Camp, helping to shape the spiritual lives of countless children.
Mrs. Jones enjoyed a successful career as a bookkeeper and accountant for U.B. Carpenter Department Stores, where she worked for more than twenty-five years. She was known for her diligence, integrity, and attention to detail.
Outside of her professional life, she was a gifted homemaker and artisan. An exceptional cook, she delighted in preparing meals for family gatherings, holidays, and reunions, creating cherished memories around her table. She was an accomplished seamstress whose talents filled her home with beautiful examples of embroidery, needlepoint, crochet work, and handcrafted sewn treasures. As an active member of the Kisatchie Quilters, she lovingly created both hand-stitched and machine-stitched quilts that will continue to warm and comfort family and friends for generations to come.
Mrs. Jones also found great joy in gardening. Whether tending vibrant flowerbeds or cultivating a vegetable garden, she took pleasure in nurturing and sharing the beauty and bounty of God’s creation.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Winnfield with Rev. John Holland, Dr. Allen Jackson and Rev. Danny Keyes officiating. Graveside officiants were Mr. David James and Rev. Norris Curry. Interment followed in Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Friends visited with the family at the church on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers were David James, Jason Maricelli, Emerson Maricelli, Wyatt Schneider, Zayne Perkins, Kaden Perkins, Jay Purdy, Rodney Guilliams, Jaden Lashley, Kortney Perkins, and Brianne Purdy.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Lashley, Brad Lashley, Todd Lashley, John Snead, Ken Jones, and Larry Jones.
Those who knew Mrs. Jones will remember her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy of love, service, creativity, and Christian witness will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched.
The family is deeply grateful for the many expressions of love, prayers, and support shown during this time of loss.
