Reverend Ronald “Ronny” Willard Taylor

Reverend Ronald “Ronny” Willard Taylor, 76, of Dodson, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Dodson. He was born on Sunday, July 25, 1948, in Winnfield, Louisiana, and made Dodson his lifelong home.
Ronny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, and pastor who dedicated his life to sharing the love of Jesus Christ. For 40 years, he faithfully preached the Gospel, serving as pastor of Gloryway Church for 25 of those years. Preaching was his true calling, and even in times of illness, he found strength and purpose in delivering the Word of God, often remarking that he felt whole and well when sharing Jesus.
Outside the pulpit, Ronny enjoyed riding his buggy around his place to check on his cattle, a cherished part of his daily life. He found peace and inspiration on his special prayer hill, where he felt a deep connection with God.
Ronny proudly served his country in the National Guard and was a skilled electrician. He owned and operated Taylor Electric, Inc., until his retirement in 2022. Working alongside his son, Ronny Jr., he traveled to various industrial plants across several states, creating lasting memories and a legacy of hard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O. W. Taylor and Mary Francis Shields Taylor, and his beloved son, Ronny Taylor Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Gail Barnhill Taylor of Dodson; his daughter, Tannah T. Fitzgerald (Mike); his sisters, LaRue Waxley (Thomas), Elaine Williams (Kenneth), and Janie Shelton; his four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and his loyal companion, Taffy Bear.
Family and friends were invited to honor Ronny’s life during visitation at Gloryway Church on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM.
