Mary Katherine Guillot Grantadams

Mary Katherine Guillot Grantadams, age 91, left this world on the 27th of October, 2024 surrounded by family to pass into glory to be with Jesus her Savior. She was welcomed into her heavenly home by many friends and family.

Katherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Russell Grantadams, and two daughters, Joanie and Rebecca Grantadams; and father Malone Guillot. Mrs. Grantadams will meet her mother, Cecile Lemoine Guillot, for the first time in heaven. She is also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents who raised her into her teenage years before passing. After their passing she lived with

different aunts and uncles till adulthood. She is also preceded in death by those aunts, uncles, and all but one cousin. Katherine was an only child so when she and Russell got married, his family became her family. She is preceded by several of his siblings and their spouses.

Katherine leaves to cherish her memories children, Brenda Smith (Wayne), Steve Grantadams, Vicki Smith (Ross), and Terri Hodnett (Paul). Along with her grandchildren: Jennifer, Mandi, Chad, Brent, Jake, Adam, April, Josh, Jed, Tori, and Becky. She also had 19 great grandchildren and her first great great grandchild is due around Christmas.

Katherine’s greatest joy was her family. She loved her family faithfully, was incredibly proud of them, and made sure their needs were met. She was incredibly devoted and made sure they not only knew Jesus as their Lord and Savior, but also exemplified the Lord in her life.

Katherine and Russell were married in 1952. By 1957 they had two young daughters. Russell came home from work one day and told her they were moving to Winnfield to run a Dairy Maid. She told him she wasn’t interested in cooking hamburgers the rest of her life. But God had a plan. With his guidance, Grantadams Dairy Maid turned into so much more. She worked alongside her family until she was 82 and then continued to work at home handling the books for the business. She and her husband created the Grantadams legacy of today. Over the years, many people have asked the special secret of the Grantadams hamburger. In her last few days she finally decided to share her secret. She stated, “Well... it starts with the meat, then you add love, lots of love.” This was her heart.

Visitation for Mrs. Grantadams was held on Tuesday, October 29, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church Cemetery in Echo, Louisiana, with Rev. John Holland officiating.
