Richard Price
The afternoon of September 7, 2024, Richard R. Price quietly passed away from complications due to vascular dementia. He was surrounded by loved ones as his wife held his hand and he wient to be with God.
Richard was born on March 25, 1956 to Walter and Alice Price. He loved playing the guitar, feeding the birds, his pets (Kermit and Angel), spending time with his family, Sonic cokes and being in the backyard. His favorite tv shows were MASH and Andy Griffith. He was devoted to God and enjoyed looking into the stars and reading things philosophical to be closer to him.
Richard worked out at the mill in Joyce for almost 50 years. His friends and coworkers well remember him as Shrimp. He married Cathy Lynn Martin Price on December 16, 1978. The two were each others soulmates.
Richard is survived by two daughters LeeAnn (Steven Ko) and Rebecca (Fred Rutherford), his older brother Jimmy Don (Sheila), his grafted in daughter Hannah (Dustin Gallaway) along with their two children (Luke and Gracie Lynn), his brother in law Bobby Lynn Martin Jr. (Kathy), his two sisters in law that he considered his own, Shemy Simon and Charlotte Reed, along with countless nieces and nephews and their spouses and kids that he loved so much: Sarah, Joe, Ashley, Little Joe, Eli, Joe C., Jake, David Jr, David Adams, Josh, Bobby, Daniel and family, Helen, Rebecca, Mary, Haley, Maddie, Whitney, Kyle, Mackenzie and Cruz, Ollie, Aubrey, Wayne and family, Jan and family, Greg, Clay, so many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as the rest of his siblings. Richard will be remembered as a hard working and quiet but gentle family man. He loved his wife more than all the stars in the universe and he greatly loved his daughters. He was a kind soul who fathered many pets (especially Lily, Abby, Arthur, Sammy and Flower). While he knew that “All we are is just dust in the wind”, he celebrated life and appreciated the time he had on this earth. A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 2 pm at East Winnfield Baptist Church.
