Dr. Frank Mobley

Dr. Frank Mobley, 89, of Winnfield, La entered his eternal home on June 12, 2024. He was born on December 29, 1934 in Monroe, La. Dr. Mobley is a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School, Louisiana College, Northwestern State University and the University of Southern Mississippi.

A gifted athlete, Frank excelled at Ouachita Parish High School in multiple sports culminating in a record-setting football career at Louisiana College and induction into the LC Sports Hall of Fame.

Dr. Mobley wore many hats in his life but all of them were focused on his ministry to people in the church or the classroom. As a preacher, minister of music, Sunday School teacher, deacon, high school teacher and coach, college professor and administrator, his goal was to love others and share the gospel of Jesus which was so precious to him.

His retirement did not end his involvement in the church and community. A servant as long as he was able, he used his multiple talents to minister to others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey H. Mobley, Sr. and Ola Dickerson Mobley; brother Dewey H. Mobley, Jr. and sister, Helene Hidalgo.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bobbie Jean Collins Mobley; son Alan Mobley and wife Mary, daughter Jeanine Ford and husband Glenn and daughter Diane Gunter and husband Ryan; grandchildren Melissa Molina and husband Marco, Brian Mobley and wife Katie, Sean Ford and wife Chelsea, Wade Tracy and wife Britney, and Erin Tracy; great-grand daughters, Grace and Emily Molina, Anna Ford, Harper and Carly Tracy, and Scottie Mobley.

His sons-in-law, grandsons and grandson- in-law served as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Bankston, Don Causey, Mike Smith, Thomas Straughan, Ronnie Melton Dr. Mark Shelton, Steve Shelton, and Randy McDow.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Winnfield, LA.

Friends visited with the family at First Baptist Church of Winnfield on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services were held at the church on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories.
