Louis Victor Gibson, 71, of Central passed away on  December 22, 2014. Born on September 16, 1943, Louis grew up in Westlake, La., and graduated from Louisiana Tech with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. He joined the U.S. Navy and
served as an officer on the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he attended LSU where he earned his Masters in Social Work. Over the next 30 years, he served in various administrative positions in social work throughout 
Louisiana. Louis is predeceased by his parents, H.C. Gibson and Virginia Kornberg, and his sister Sudie Hough. He is survived by his three children, Anna Gibson of Monroe, La., Esther Townsend and her husband Mark of West Monroe. La., and Ross Gibson and his wife Brie of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren Hadassah, Liam and River Townsend and Olive Gibson; and his dog, Blackjack

Mrs. Sharon Lynn “Sherry” Williams, age 56 of Packton, Louisiana passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014. Born Sunday, December 21, 1958 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Thurman James and Audie Lee Jordan Riggs and Homer and Tommie Cryer Varnell, Father, Howard Russell Varnell and Mother, Elsie Ann Riggs Varnell. Sherry loved to fish, camp and work in her garden. She also enjoyed helping haul firewood and anything to do with the outdoors. Sherry loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ms. Norma Lee Darbonne Lagrange were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, LA. Rite of Committal and interment followed in the St. Charles Cemetery. Ms. Norma was a native of  words and was a current resident of Winnfield. She passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Winnfield, LA, surrounded by her family at the age of 90. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and doing yardwork. She was a wonderful mother and aunt to many nieces and nephews who enjoyed visiting her home. She is survived by her son, Glenn Lagrange of Tampa, FL; and her daughter, Pat L.

Stephen Tommy Underwood

Funeral services for life-long Sikes, Louisiana resident, Stephen Tommy Underwood, was held Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel  with family friends Reverend Robert Leach and Reverend Kenneth Tarver, with a eulogy  iven by his nephew, Tony McManus. Interment followed in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in the Fellowship Community near Tommy’s home in Sikes. Pallbearers were Jerry Ingles, Royce Calhoun, Gary Tolbert, La Dale Pate, Kenneth Clifton, and Wesley Simons. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Lasyone, Mike Clingan, Herman Grantadams and Roger Rutledge.  Tommy Underwood was born June 23, 1946, the first child of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Connie Underwood. He passed from this life, Tuesday, December 16, 2014, peacefully at his home surrounded by those he loved. Tommy’s working years were spent in the logging woods working as a skidder driver.
