Calvin “Wayne” Sandifer

Mr. Calvin “Wayne” Sandifer, age 61, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed on to his Heavenly home, on February 24, 2025.

Born on July 17, 1963, in Winnfield, Wayne loved his Savior, his family, and his friends with his whole heart. He loved his family so deeply, as Christ loved all of us, and made it evident to his family and friends how much he loved them all. Not only was he a beautiful and uplifting soul to those around him, he was a self-employed cosmetologist, who thought the world of his clientele. He loved to make someone feel more beautiful by the end of his time with them. Wayne took his time with each client, learning about them, not only professionally, but personally as well. He also had a compassion for cooking and sharing those delicious dishes with family members and friends. He loved to prepare, serve, and be a host to those he loved and converse with them about any and everything. His hobbies, besides being a servant to those he deeply cared for, were cooking, gardening, yard work on his flower gardens, spending time with his family and friends, and watching cooking shows and music competitions on the television. He loved helping take care of his nephews, as if they were his own, until later in life, he was blessed with great nieces and nephews, that he also took great joy in helping to love and take care of.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Sandifer, Sr., baby brother, John Anthony “Tony” Sandifer, maternal grandparents, Calvin Robinson and Mae Robinson, and paternal grandparents, Matthew Sandifer and Cloutie Gaspard.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Carrie Sandifer, sister, Rita Malone (Mark), brother, James E. Sandifer, Jr. (Carla), nephew, Colton Sandifer (Shelby), their children, Rylla, Brysen, and Rhydian Sandifer, and nephew, Caleb Sandifer (Linzy), and his children, Toni and Lissa Sandifer (Amber); Best Friend of the Family, Martha Malone, and with these include many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.

The family received guests on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Southern Funeral Home from 10:00 AM 11:00 AM. Services were held at 11:00 AM at Southern Funeral Home. Graveside services follow at Garden of Memories in Winnfield, LA.
