Cathy Price (7/24/61 – 9/27/24)
Cathy went home to glory in Heaven with Jesus on September 27, 2024 at 3:17 pm at Oschner Medical Center. She was at complete peace and surrounded by her girls as she ran into the arms of Jesus and her precious Richard.
Cathy was born on July 21, 1961 in Melton, Missouri to Nadine Lafay (Makne) and Bobby Lee Martin Sr. She was married to the love of her life and soulmate, Richard R. Price on December 16, 1978. Together they made a beautiful life with their two girls Lee Ann and Rebecca and a whole host of fur babies through the years. She worked as a self employed and business cleaner for many years. She also served as the church secretary at EWBC prior to receiving her transplant.
She loved all of her fur babies, but her Lily Girl, her sweet and loving dachshund hand her heart completely.
She was known and loved by all who met her and she most fondly was “Miss Aunt Cathy” to most. Cathy was a devout Christian. Her love for God, her walk with Him, her never-ending faith was an inspiration to anyone she crossed paths with. The joy of the Lord truly radiated off her, spreading God’s love to everyone around her. There’s hardly a person, children especially, that ever entered the doors of EWBC, that didn’t know exactly who Miss Aunt Cathy was, and how much she and Jesus loved them.
The last 10 years of Cathy’s life, she was a loud and proud walking testimony of God’s miracle working power. On May 1, 2014 she received a double transplant of a liver and kidney after many years of sickness. It was truly a miracle watching God unfold her transplant story. She was proud to tell any and everyone she encountered that God worked a miracle in her and gave her a second chance at life. She didn’t waste her second chance in the least. She spent it with her Richard, her girls, all of her loving family and friends, she lived her life to the fullest. The streets of Heaven are going to be filled with all the lives she’s touched and ministered to, truly, just her smile said it all.
Cathy loved her family and friends. She was the best secret keeper and advice giver. She was the one you could always turn to, and no matter what, her arms where always wide open. She was always ready for a dance party in the car or silly pictures and jokes. She loved having get togethers over a good meal or a hot cup of coffee. She loved playing board/card/dice games, especially Scrabble, Farkle, Mexican Dominoes and Gin Rummy. Even though she rarely stayed awake through a whole movie, she did love watching a good movie too. Anyone can attest she was a phenomenal cook – particularly with her “world famous” chicken spaghetti.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lee Ann Price (Steven Ko) and Rebecca Price (Fred Rutherford), her niece/bonus daughter Hannah Gallaway (Dustin) and her two children, Luke and Gracie Lynn, her beloved sister-Charlotte Reed, her big brother-Bob Martin Jr. (Kathy), her sister-Shemy Simon )John), her brother-Jimmy Price (Sheila), her dear friends-Robby Warren, Jeannie Enterkin & Lisa Ellis, Kelly Cullen, her m any nieces and nephews – Greg Carson (Ola), David Reed Jr. (Mary Longcria), Daniel Reed (Robin) and family, Sarah Mae Adams (David) and family, Whitney Price and family, Josh and Bobby Reed, Mackenzie Garcia and family, Joseph Reed (Ashley) and family, Jake Reed Joe Corrleau, David Hawkins, Bec Reed (Leigh Anne), Helen Reed (John Boyd) and family, Melanie Hucklebridge and Haley Reed and family.
