Ed was a master at barbeque (“Carter-Que”) who also loved cornbread, purple hull peas, peaches and banana puddin’.

A true southern gentleman, Ed was a man who always greeted people with a smile, handshake, or, more often as not, a hug. He put God first in his life, and he also cherished his family, his many friends and his country throughout his lifetime. He blessed the lives of all who knew him, leaving large footprints to follow.

In 2005, Marilyn passed away following a long struggle with cancer.

Ed reconnected with his high school friend, Brenda McManus, and he and Brenda were married December 13, 2008. Ed cherished Brenda. His love and devotion was an example to all who knew them. They enjoyed traveling, especially to Fredericksburg, Branson and their beloved family and high school reunions.
