Elinor Octavia Brian “Susie” Krull

Elinor Octavia Brian Krull, known as “Susie” to most, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2023, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born to parents Elinor and Samuel Brian and spent the majority of her life in Winnfield, Louisiana. She served as an educator for 40 years, touching the lives of hundreds of children of all ages and intellectual abilities.

She is survived by two children Susanne Taylor (husband Doug), and Ray Krull (wife Amber) and their two children Lillian Elinor and Ridley Isaac. She is also survived by her brother Sammy Brian (wife Sharon), three nieces, a host of grand nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family members.

Susie never met a stranger and made friends everywhere she went. She was passionate about gardening, filling her yard with as many flowers, plants, and vegetables as space would allow. She enjoyed traveling, teaching, and discovering good food; but most of all, she loved the children in her life. Susie was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but fun and wonderful memories.

To honor Susie, donations can be made to the Zelma Long Frazier Scholarship sponsored by the Alpha Beta Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Donations can be sent to Alpha Beta Chapter, 103 Harrel Avenue, Winnfield, LA 71483.

A memorial honoring Susie will be held at First United Methodist Church, 300 W. Main St, Winnfield, LA, on Saturday, August 26th at 2:00 p.m. with visitation following the service. For those unable to travel, the service will be live streamed.
