Tommy Lee Wooten

Tommy Lee Wooten was born in Union, Mississippi September 14, 1947. He passed away December 23, 2022 at Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield.

Tommy was a Baptist, a U. S. Army Veteran and a retired Corrections officer. He was an avid fisherman and sports fanatic. He was especially passionate about college football with LSU being his favorite team. No one dared to cut off the TV or change channels when he was watching the Tigers play.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Terry Wooten Sr. and Margie Winfield Wooten along with his beloved dog “Buckey-Buck” Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 28 years Claudia Bienek Wooten, three sons Curtis Wooten (Lynn), Kendell Wooten (Amanda), and Joe Wooten (Amber), three step-children Stacy Lonadier (Chris), David Carter (Miranda), and Wade Carter (Alisha), thirteen grandchildren Nick, Jacob, Blake, Leigh, Latham, Emilee, Jared, Jacie, Mason, Owen, Jewel, Bentley, and Emily and two great grandchildren Georgia Kate and Christian.

He is also survived by two brothers Johnny Wooten (Debbie) and Randy Wooten (Kelly), and one sister Jackie Webb (Jim), two nephews as well as his cats George, Kiki, Miserable Cat, and his dog Remi.

Funeral services for Mr. Wooten were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 26, in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Russell Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Sanders Chapel Cemetery.

Friends visited with the family at the funeral home on Monday, December 26 from 10:30 a.m. until time of services.

Memorials may be made to the Heart of Louisiana Humane Society in Louisiana.
