Nedra Vines

Mrs. Nedra Vines, age 76 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Born Tuesday, January 1, 1946 in Chatham, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her mother, Verda Shows Smith; her father, Gebe Smith; her brothers and sisters, Cloteal Jimmerson, Shirley Smith, Eloise Bamburg, Arveal Culpepper, R.H. Smith, and G.B. Smith, Jr.; her husband, Loyd Vines; her grandson, Justin Higgs; her sonin- law, Lonnie Wayne Higgs; and her furbaby, Prissy Vines.

Mrs. Nedra enjoyed playing in her yard, by mowing, tending to her flowers, and fishing in her pond.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Karla Higgs; her grandson, Colin Higgs; her great granddaughter, Ella Higgs; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family received friends on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Southern Funeral Home, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Southern Funeral Home, from 9:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Southern Funeral Home with Reverends Travis Hampton, Billy Mc-Bride, and Gary Bentley officiating. Interment followed in Hurricane Creek Cemetery, in Dodson.

Serving the family as pallbearers were Robert Johns, Darin Hemphill, Quinn Hemphill, Jeremy Underwood, Cody Melton, and Richie Broomfield. Honorary pallbearers were Team Challenge-Mt. Grace.
