Bobby Wayne Maxey

Bobby Wayne Maxey, (Bob) a longtime resident of Houston, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on August 14, 2022. Bob was born in Winnfield, Louisiana on June 26, 1935. He was pleased to have been raised by a loving family in a small city. Bob loved to gather at the yearly family reunions in Louisiana and Texas.

His formal education was from Winnfield High School and he earned his BA degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Bob retired from the Texas Workforce in 1988 after 30 years of service.

He was very proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army as a chaplain’s assistant in Germany.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Jane Bethard Maxey, Robert R. Maxey and his brother, Donald J. Maxey. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Cooksey Maxey of 56 years and many cousins.

A graveside service and interment was held in East Texas at the Guiceland Cemetery. The burial had to be postponed from an earlier date until 9-8-2022 due to bad weather in East Texas.
