John Miron Parker

John Miron Parker Mr. John Miron Parker, 66, of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away at Ochsner’s Medical Center LSU Shreveport on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 23, 1956 in New Iberia, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents M.M. “Doc” Parker and Faye Porter Parker, and one sister Beverly Parker Harrell. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Donna Coleman Parker; daughter, Heather Parker Pickett (Jeff); son, Joshua Leonard Parker (Emily); daughter Claudia Parker Womack (Josh); daughter, Atlanta Kelly Johns; grandchildren, Parker, Madison, and Coleman Grantadams, Jack and Randi Claire Parker, John Luke, Taysom and Connor Womack; one sister, Cherry Beth Parker Salter (Kevin), one brother, Dock Barksdale “lil Dock” Parker (Elaina); numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog “Sassy”.

John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors. He made a career in the logging industry for over 47 years, where he was well respected. He never met a stranger, and will be missed by his family and friends deeply. He was a longtime member of South Winnfield Bpatist Church.

Funeral Services were held at South Winnfield Baptist Church of Winnfield, Louisiana on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00AM with Rev. Joel Johnson and Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Interment followed in Old Union Cemetery of Joyce.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Daryl Coleman, Derek Coleman, Kirk Long, Ben Russell, Cody Parker, DaCoda Salter.
