Lamar Hutto

Mr. Lamar Hutto, age 87 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Born Monday, April 22, 1935 in Dodson, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice Martin Hutto and Benjamin Lane Hutto; brothers, Cecil Waylon Hutto, James Hutto, Charles Hutto, and William E. “Bill” Hutto, and sister, Eva Hutto Riser. Mr. Hutto raised horses and grew orchids with his wife Gloria. He was a member of the Louisiana Orchid Society. He was involved with the forestry community statewide. Mr. Hutto was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He always greeted you with a smile and a hug. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 66 years, Gloria Rowe Hutto; sons, Rodger Hutto, Richard “Rick” Hutto, Ronald “Ronnie Bo” Hutto and Russell “Rusty” Hutto (Sherry); grandchildren, Jamie, Casey, Chelle, Jon, and Ryan; bonus grandchildren, Greg, Corey, Keith, and Kody; great grandchildren, Jeffery, Jalyne, Wyatt, Rhett, and GiGi; great great grandchild,
Elliott; sister-in-law, Barbara Hutto; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Gloryway Church, from 9:30 AM until time of services. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Gloryway Church with Rev. Ronny Taylor and Rev. Jeff Shows officiating. Interment followed in the Gloryway Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Serving the family as pallbearers were Mark Hutto, Bobby Hutto, Toby Boyett, Silas Rowe, Charlie Wayne, and Steven Gaar. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Hutto, Rusty Hutto, John Wages, and Mike Boyett.
