Harold Aston

Harold Aston Mr. Harold Aston was born May 16, 1934, and crossed the Golden Bridge into Heaven on August 10, 2022, at the young age of 88. He was born in Lockney, Texas and was the only child of Othel Cockerham & A. C. Aston. His final hours were spent surrounded by family.

This man never met a stranger and all those that crossed his path were made to feel like a friend as well as family. He had an infectious sense of humor, often lacked any filters, and was often referred to as a “hot mess”. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Claudine Burk, and they went on to have 2 daughters, LaWanda and Nancy. Their family was completed when grandchild, Theresa came along.

Having a career in the Oil & Gas industry, required travel both domestically and internationally. He and Claudine settled in multiple states including Nevada, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Their international travels allowed them to explore and live in such countries as Turkey, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. Upon, returning to the states, they settled in Calvin, Louisiana, where they called home for approximately 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Claudine, daughters LaWanda Aston of Houston, Texas and Nancy (Neal) Smith of North Richland Hills, Texas, grandchild Theresa (Mitchell) Theriot of West Columbia, Texas. He is also survived by Brother-in-Laws Robert (Kathleen) Burk of Pensacola, Florida and Billy Ray (Mary Jane) Burk of Fort Worth, Texas, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by many family members and friends, he was welcomed to his final home in Heaven. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022 in the Southern Funeral Home chapel, 202 E. Lafayette St., Winnfield, Louisiana.
