Marie Guthrie Saucier, age 96 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away from this life on May 16th, 2022 at Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, Louisiana.

Marie Saucier was born on January 18th, 1926, in the Wattsville Community, Louisiana, as the daughter of the late Carrie and Ernest Guthrie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Lavon Saucier, parents Ernest and Carrie Guthrie, brothers Arthur and John Guthrie, sisters Louisa Norman, Maude Guthrie, Mattie McNeill, stepson Douglas Saucier, granddaughters Carrie Eusey, Annette Lundy, and great grandson Michael Ryder Jr.

Ms. Marie Saucier graduated from Calvin High School and was a member of Bethel Church of Christ. She was a kind-hearted and devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. She loved spending time with her family and some of her hobbies included folk art painting, sewing, gardening, canning, woodworking, reading and listening to music.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children Roy Jr. and Cindy Mercer, Cathy and Jimmy Delaughter, Linda and Ciro Balliache, Debra and Danny Conzonere, Donna and Rick Waller, step children Stanley and Cheri Saucier, and Sue Briant. She had 14 grandchildren, 2 stepgrandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Her grandsons were honored to serve as pallbearers: Anthony Delaughter, Richard Delaughter, Todd Ryder, Kris Delaughter, Danny Conzonere Jr., Roy Mercer III, and Ricky Waller.

The family received friends on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022, at Bethel Church of Christ, 4793 Highway 501, Winnfield, LA, from 10:00 AM until time of the funeral services at 12:00 PM with Minister Steve Bartlett officiating.

Interment followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery of Calvin, Louisiana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, Louisiana. You may also pay respects to the family at southernfuneralhome.com.
